Webbing Up the Future: Sony Pictures Boss Provides Insight into the State of the Spider-Man TV Show Universe
Sony Pictures has been in development on its very own live-action spider verse for the better part of the last decade when it comes to the TV front. And finally, things have started to move forward in a somewhat more rapid manner than we had before. Now Sony Pictures’ boss officially gives us a good update, all things considered.
We know that at any given time, sony is developing multiple projects based on spiderman, whether it’s on the film front, which of course has seen venom Morbius, the upcoming craving the Hunter, madam webb, and multiple other projects.
On the TV side, we know they have a handful. The one that’s been announced is, of course, Silk Spider Society, which will be set in the same world where Peter Parker is Spiderman. How they’re going to do that still remains to be seen.
Of course. It’s been very quiet on that front up until now with a brand new update thanks to the deadline from the people involved with the Amazon mgm deal that are part of the whole Sony Pictures Television Studios department, let’s put it that way.
So the big revelation is the fact that Amazon and MGM and the people that are working on Silk are very closely collaborating with Sony Pictures, specifically with the same people working on spiderman films. And that this is a big collaborative effort on everybody’s front to make sure that this fits the universe that they’re building out and that it’s taking more time because they want to make sure that the scripts are right.
That this is the Silk spiderman story that they want to tell, and that this, from the start, feels like it’s a big deal, that this is something that the fans will want to tune into, and that they know that they can’t fail spiderman because this is going to be them doing their own spiderman story outside of Marvel Studios.
And she references, obviously, the previous downfalls, which obviously is referencing The Amazing spiderman as such. And again, yeah, all eyes will be on Sony and Amazon for this project, especially if they put spiderman in it, which they teased in the actual description.
So it’s going to be interesting to see what happens. But I’m just glad they’re taking their time. As long as they can nail the feel and whose Silk is, I think they’ll have a winner.
