BREAKING Marvel Studios to Release Fewer Marvel TV Shows
We got some big breaking news recently directly from Marvel Studios where they said they’re going to pump the brakes a little bit on Disney content. That was followed up with a brand new report from The Hollywood Reporter where they are saying expect a giant cutback to the number of shows on Disney Plus.
I honestly think we all kind of expected this to some degree, especially with the amount of content we’ve had the last two years because we were playing a year and a half to two years worth of catch up that it was going to slow down.

And previously we were looking at like five Marvel Studio series a year. This, of course, included animation. And now it looks like we’re going to be scaling to maybe three live action and one to two animated projects. And The Hollywood Reporter, The Rap and multiple others now have sort of collaborated each other’s reports and are just saying that it’s time for cutbacks and everybody realizes it’s time to do this.
And specifically the Marvel Studios. Kevin Feige has been interested in doing this for a while and it was kind of a necessity. And realistically, I think it’s for the best. I’ve always said if you give us more, we’ll watch it happily. But it always felt like a good medium was two to three films a year. Three shows a year. That seems like a good balance,
especially if many of the projects are different and have a different vibe to them. Once you start to oversaturate that, you can run into some of the similar aspects of each show and that becomes problematic. And if we really start looking forward next year,
we’re going to have daredevil the first season having 18 episodes. 18 episodes, that’s absolutely insane. On top of this, you’re going to be overlapping with like two movies with that series and then like three other shows next year. It is becoming a little congested and I do appreciate that they’re willing to do things like this and honestly just give it more time.

And I think all of us, even if we like the amount of content they were putting out, will agree that they should probably take more time on some of the aspects that have suffered, like CG for example. That really needs work.
Take your time and get back to how some of the projects were in the early Disney Plus shows and not the later half, which, of course, again, yes, was
affected by a pandemic, but also it was affected by Luke, literally them rushing projects out the door. So if you could scale that back and deliver consistent quality on Disney Plus, I think it’s for the better.
