Diego Luna Clarifies Fantastic Four Reed Richards Casting Reports
Over the last couple of months, there’s been another name that’s been tossed into the Royal Rumble. That is the casting for Reed Richards of The Fantastic Four. This was Diego Luna, aka star Wars’s andor and now the actor tackles these rumors head on.
I hope you all know who Diego Luna is and I hope he doesn’t need an introduction, but if he does, the guy from Rogue One and also the star of Andor, which is a series that adds character development to the character from the film.

Either way, though, yeah, he’s been rumored for quite a long time to be playing the character of Reed Richards. Again, this is just one of those things that’s been out there. Again, people are always tossing out names, fancastings and what they reportedly heard.
So recently, he did reply to some of these rumors and he acknowledged them literally head on, nothing left to the imagination.
And he says he’s seen the rumor and it’s always fascinating for him when the rumors take off. But he says he’s busy for the next couple of years because he’s got way more Star Wars to do, specifically the second season of Andor, the huge turnaround time on that and of course, everything else involved with it. And he openly says that the next two years of him and his career are
all booked up. So unless they’re shooting beyond that, he doesn’t know. And he doesn’t know anything beyond that. And then he did say that.
Honestly, you will see what happens. He’s not going to deny it, not going to confirm it. So that’s an interesting one. But he says he’s not even sure once these two years are up if he’s just going to want to go straight back to filming. And again, we see this with a lot of actors, they end up taking a break. And it makes sense.
I know a lot of people are saying, why doesn’t Marvel just cast him as Robbie Reyes? They already got a perfectly good Robbie Reyes, so that’s why just bring back the original actor and at the same time, why not bring Diego Luna in as Mr. Fantastic?
If they’re going to go that route again, I think they’re going to go a little bit out of the norm and try to cast relative unknowns for The Fantastic Four. And I think Luna is obviously a little bit more on the radar now due to Star Wars and the popularity and everything and obviously having other shows under his belt.

But who really knows? Marvel Studios is always looking for actors that have goodwill behind them and are beloved by fans. And certainly, I mean, he’s one of them. But I will say that the rumor of him playing Reed Richards goes all the way back to when the film was supposed to already have started shooting this year when John was the director of Spiderman was attached.
And he never addresses that. So maybe there was something there that we missed? I mean, who knows? Who really knows? But I guess we’ll keep an eye on it. If something happens, we’ll see. I wouldn’t mind if he was read Richards, but I have a younger cast in mind, so we’ll see what happens.
