DC Universe in Flux as Warner Bros.
I’m gonna guess that absolutely no one watching this is surprised by this news, which came at us from the Rap. And they state that J j. Abrams along in the development justice League dark is canceled. Yeah, I know. Shocking, right?
Abrams signed a half billion dollar dollars deal with WB for five years to deliver endless content. A lot of it was going to be DC content. In the meantime, he’s delivered absolutely zero projects, and his contract is up in about less than a year.
So, yeah, there was some hope, I guess, that people still had that something could happen. Madam Zanadu, Constantine, who knows what else they were working on. We know one of them was Justice League Dark. We know he’s somehow involved with Constantine. Still, that Keanu Reeves. One more likely as an executive producer by the sound of it.
But what’s going on with Justice League Dark? The rap says that’s dead. There’s no plans for it. That’s not a factor anymore. It does make sense if they pivoted pretty much everything in different directions. And you have James Gunn and Peter Saffronow just kind of sitting there going, this works, this doesn’t. That probably won’t fit. Yeah. How are you going to fit Justice League Dark into that again? I think
they have ideas for their own Justice League Dark, but that’s going to take some time to get off the ground. Naturally. Chapter one, gods and monsters will lead into the Justice League dark side of the universe, but you never know.
And if they were to just say, hey, Constantine two, with Keanu starting a whole new dark Justice League, then what’s the point of one shared universe if you’re just again going to be just taking everything and fragmenting it? It doesn’t make sense. Two to three else World stories, sure. Else World universes, then we’re just back at where we were. It’s just less of it less frequently without the CW.
So what do you have in the end? Not a whole lot. So justice League dark. I don’t know if anything of value is lost, considering we had nothing to begin with, so yeah.
