Avatar The Way of Water has officially passed spiderman no Way Home
As of today, Avatar The Way of Water has officially passed spiderman no Way Home with its total box office take. And unlike Spiderman, it did not need a rerelease to be able to do this, which honestly just shows you that, well, Avatar has power, I guess, which isn’t a surprise.
Avatar Two is knocking on the door of 2 billion, which Spiderman No Way Home almost had in its global box office state. It currently sits at 1.91 billion, which Avatar has managed to take over today, slash tonight.
By the time it’s all said and done and everything will be accounted for in the next day and a half, it will officially be confirmed. But essentially, this is just Disney overtaking another Disney movie.

It’s kind of what we got these days now. And it’s honestly shocking to a lot of people. But it really shouldn’t be. After the huge global box office weekend that Avatar had and the staying power and adding more screens and actually over performing in its third weekend by going upwards.
This was kind of writing on the wall, if you will. And again, nothing against any film here, but I think the interesting story here is that you’re seeing that Avatar is an event film. I know a lot of people are still dead set on this film doesn’t have memes, therefore nobody cares about it.
Yet again, it’s managed to take over Spiderman, which again was a huge film, an event film, if you will. And also that had all the memes, right? So let’s take the meme culture out of it and just focus on the positives here. I don’t want to hear anybody anymore talk about, well, man, that pandemic.
Nope, that’s not a thing anymore. We don’t need to talk about that anymore. People are showing up the films. People are just being more selective and people want to go to big event films again. We’re slowly starting to see that with other films as well. Nostalgia is driving people.
I’ve seen a lot of people say, man, I haven’t seen the original Avatar since it came out. But I remember I love this. So I went and seen this one again.
There’s something to this again, I know it’s not for everybody. I’m preaching to the choir here, to the few of us Avatar fans on here. But I’m excited the box office is recovering. This shows that big event films like this can do big.
And it’s not all about trying to just go for the big films anymore because we’re starting to see the smaller films as well, perform exceptionally. Megan, I’ve talked about that film. I love it. It’s such a great film. Glad to see that over performing.

I think people are now more comfortable with going back to theaters and other countries as well, are slowly starting to go, you know what, just get back to normal. It’s fine. People want to get back to normal. I think Avatar, honestly, is a film that’s bringing back a lot of people queerly and looking at the next couple of weekends, it’s still predicted to do good all the way up until Antman.
So it’s got like another month and that should be exciting. It’s going to be interesting to see where exactly it lands. Do you guys think it’s going to hit 2.5 bill?
People are already saying it’s not possible, but then again, one bill wasn’t possible, 1.5 wasn’t possible, and two is apparently not possible despite it almost being there. So we’ll see.
