Andrew Garfield fires back at Charlie Cox’s Spider-Man insults
Remember that time that Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spiderman was called the third best spiderman by one of Andrew Garfield’s best friends aka. Charlie Cox, aka.
Daredevil that spun up a little bit of heat towards Charlie even though he obviously meant it as a joke and you can see the context of it as a joke when you watch the interview.
Well, now Andrew Garfield replies and as one would expect, he’s challenged Charlie Cox to a fistfight. No, I’m just making that up. No, he didn’t. He’ll laughs along with him.

Yes. How dare Charlie Cox say what most people on this world feel that Andrew Garfield played the third best Spiderman. Nothing against him, obviously, I covered that. It’s just the circumstances surrounding the entire creation of his film, the universe.
And the downfall of those films is, well, largely to blame on everybody pretty much, besides Andrew Garfield. Which is exactly why Andrew, even now, kind of makes fun of that whole thing and laughs about the whole situation even calling himself naive because of what he expected. But yeah.
Andrew Garfield. How did he react to Charlie Cox? Well, he actually laughed along with him pointing out that it’s funny if not true.
So, yeah, look, I get tribalistic fanboying of TASM because some people grew up on it and whatever but have people lost touch with reality so hard that they actually believed that those films were very successful and beloved by everybody? Because they weren’t. Again, I know you could argue that for everything but we know
Andrew Garfields even said it himself.
Mark Webb, the director of those films, even Sony admitted that they made a lot of missteps, calculated missteps that they were told not to make. They made those and they ruined their chances.
And now Andrew Garfield has gotten past the part where he can actively joke about it with one of his best friends. So his response was, yeah, you know what?
Yeah, we laugh about it because he’s right. And that’s it. That’s that I think it’s fine. I think it’s great that Andrew Garfield is laughing at jokes like this and he can comment about it again and just be happy about it.

And you can tell because they even asked him after, oh, yeah, okay, well, now that you’re asking about it, anything else on Spiderman?
He’s like, it was great to just have closure on that role which he said before because it felt like this empty, like hole, a void that he never thought he would get to wrap up. He never thought he would get to give back to it. So now he’s moved on and moved
so much past it that he can laugh about it, enjoy life and even make fun of him being the third best live action Spiderman which, honestly, at some point you just wish most people could do that too. It’s one of those things you aspire to be like yeah, just got to laugh at myself. That’s the best thing you could possibly do.
